Scripture out of context: Feeding the hungry

The phrase “If a man doesn’t work, he shouldn’t eat,” refers to 2 Thessalonians 3:10, which states “10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.” and is often cited by those who like to have an excuse for not feeding the hungry.” YET, this scripture wasn’t referring to those who were poor and hungry. It was referring to busybodies that were behaving themselves disorderly to be fed by the people. They were hustling people for a living rather than working for a living. To read 2 Thessalonians 3:10 in context, one must read 2 Thessalonians 3:6-16, that says:

2 Thessalonians 3:6-16
6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.

7 For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;

8 Neither did we eat any man’s bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:

9 Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.

10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.

12 Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.

13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.

14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.

15 Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

16 Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.

A new creature in Christ

When a person follows Christ earnestly and in sincerity, that person becomes a new creature in Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says,”17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” Whereas you were once a sinner, you no longer want to sin any more. Even if you struggle to stop sinning, you’ll have the want to stop sinning and follow GOD’s Word.

Through grace by faith, we can repent of our sins to GOD. Ephesians 2:8-10 speaks of Grace and Psalms 51 speaks of contrite, repentant heart:

Ephesians 2:8-10
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Psalms 51

1 (To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.) Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.

4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.

9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.

10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

11Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

12Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

14 Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.

15 O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.

16 For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.

17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

18 Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.

19 Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.

We can focus on following Christ Jesus and obeying His Word. When we steadfastly follow Christ Jesus we can avoid sin because our focus stays fixed on Him. Being blessed with forgiveness, we can repent of those sins that we do commit.

Do not be misled or deceived by those who state that once we are saved, we can sin all that we want because we can ask for GOD’s forgiveness. If one does that, he still has an unrepentant heart and he is not truly sorry that he committed sin. Romans 6 says:

Romans 6
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

14For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

False Teachers: Sabbatai Zevi, Jacob Frank and the Frankists’ False Redemption through sin

Sabbatai Zevi and Jacob Frank were false teachers who taught that one should sin as often as possible to gain redemption. This is a form of hypergrace that takes the principle of salvation by grace through faith out context to teach that the saved don’t to obey the Ten Commandments nor Jesus’ reinforcing of the Ten Commandments nor the laws that He taught in Matthew 5 through 7, those taught in Romans 12, the book of James, and throughout the New testament.

Sabbatai Zevi

  • Claimed to be the Jewish Messiah, which makes him an anti-christ.
  • Teachings were based on the kabbalah which is witchcraft and mysticism.
  • Excommunicated from Judaism for claiming to be the messiah
  • Followers referred to him as holy master. Jesus says in call no man Rabbi, which is another word for master.
  • When faced with death or conversion to Islam, He converted to Islam. He wasn’t willing to die to prove his self-proclaimed deity and he wasn’t willing to die for the sins of his followers.
  • Zevi moved to Thessalonika, now called Salonica because it was a major center of kabbalism.
  • Performed false miracles while in Thessalonika.
  • He had false visions and practised divination using kabbalah and mysticism.
  • Claimed that he was to marry an unchaste woman like Hosea was commanded to marry the harlot Gomer.

The majority of Sabbatai Levi’s practices and teachings are in direct conflict with GOD’s Word.

Matthew 24:24
4 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Galatians 1:9
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Acts 20:28-31
28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

Deuteronomy 18:9-14
9 When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.

10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,

11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

12 For all that do these things are an
abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.

14 For these nations, which thou shalt
possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.

Sabbatai Zevi |Followers referred to him as holy master. Jesus says in Matthew 23:8 call no man Rabbi, which is another word for master.

GOD’s Word from The Holy Bible|

Matthew 23:8
But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.

Matthew 23:10 – 12

10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.

11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.

12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

John 15:11-14
11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and [that] your joy might be full.

12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

John 3:16 -21
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Matthew 10:32-33
32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

2 Timothy Chapter 2:10-13
10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

11 [It is] a faithful saying: For if we be dead with [him], we shall also live with [him]:

12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with [him]: if we deny [him], he also will deny us:

13 If we believe not, [yet] he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

2 Corinthians 11:13 -15
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is
transformed into an angel of light.

15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Ezekiel 12:24
For there shall be no more any vain vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel.

Sabbatai Zevi|Claimed that he was to marry an unchaste woman like Hosea was commanded to marry the harlot Gomer

Hosea’s marriage was a sign from GOD to the ancient Israelites to make them aware of there unfaithfulness and disobedience to GOD because of their worship of false and strange gods, the human sacrifice of their children, their mixing of the holy with the profane, their gainsaying. In Hosea 3, GOD says:

GOD’s Word from The Holy Bible

Hosea 3
1 Then said the LORD unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the LORD toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.

2 So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley:

3 And I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be for another man: so will I also be for thee.

4 For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim:

5 Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.

When one reads Romans chapter 6, we can that to teach and do such a thing is anti-christ and blasphemous. It is in direct opposition to GOD’s Word, as we can see:

Let GOD be true and every man be a liar

Please do not listen to anyone who teaches anything that is in conflict with GOD’s Word. Please pray to GOD for discernment and read your Bible yourself. Make certain that teachers and preachers are correctly teaching GOD’s Word and not merely their personal feelings nor introducing new doctrines of their own making. In Acts 20:28-31, Paul says:

Acts 20:28-31
28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Sabbatai Zevi and Jacob Frank are accursed men who led their followers, people who wanted Jesus Christ to come back quickly, down a path of destruction.

Do not compare amongst yourselves

Do not compare amongst yourselves

2 Corinthians 10:12
For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

*Don’t validate yourself worth through comparison with someone else’s life. That which is meant to be for one person may not be meant for you. Just because something works favorably for one person does not mean that it will work favorably for you.

Example 1: Chocolate chip cookies might be delicious to one person. Seeing that person enjoying those cookies may make you desire that person’s cookies and even feel that you deserve them more than that person. Yet, when you get your own chocolate chip cookies of the same exact kind as that person’s, you find that you hate the cookies. Now ask yourself, was it really the cookies that you wanted or was it the happiness that you saw the person experiencing?

*You don’t truly know another person nor what their life is like. You don’t know God’s plan for them and why he equipped them to have the position that they have and the things that they have. God blesses us to fulfill His will. He does not bless us to fulfill our own vain desires.

Romans 2:11
For there is no respect of persons with God.

*God doesn’t show favoritism. He judges everyone justly. He lets no one get away with doing evil. He rebukes, reproves and corrects us because He loves us and wants us to be holy, righteous, and true.

Romans 12:3 – For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think [of himself] more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

*Be humble. Don’t believe your own hype.

Galatians 5:13-16
13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh

*We should love one another and help one another.

*We should not seek to exalt ourselves over one another

*We shouldn’t take advantage of one another nor abuse or demean one another.

*We shouldn’t seek to unjustly rule over one another, exploit one another, make some become our flunky, lacky, or henchman.

*We should not strive against one another.

*We should not plot one another’s downfall.

Galatians 5:25-26
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

*We have to walk in the Spirit of GOD. We have to be like Jesus in our behavior. We need to show Grace, Mercy, Kindness, and Patience to one another.

*We need to be happy for one another and rejoice with one another.

* We shouldn’t be envious or jealous of one another.

*We shouldn’t unrighteously (without a just cause) want to see one another’s struggle or demise.

*We should not want that which doesn’t belong to us nor that which isn’t meant for us.

*We should not seek after that which will bring us vainglory that will encourage vanity, self-pride, and the abuse and mistreatment of others to elevate ourselves.

Galatians 6:1-3
1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

2 Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

*Do not use the faults of others as an occasion to take pride in oneself. Remain humble. In meekness – not brash, boastful self-righteousness – approach the person to let them know that they are in error. Approach them as you would have someone approach you.

*If someone needs help, you should help them. You shouldn’t use their time of trouble and their struggle validate your own self-percieved superiority.

20 For ye suffer, if a man bring you into bondage, if a man devour you, if a man take of you, if a man exalt himself, if a man smite you on the face.

21 I speak as concerning reproach, as though we had been weak. Howbeit whereinsoever any is bold, (I speak foolishly,) I am bold also.

22 Are they Hebrews? so am I. Are they Israelites? so am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? so am I.

23 Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.

24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.

25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;

26 In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;

27 In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

28 Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.

29 Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not?

30 If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities.

31 The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore, knoweth that I lie not.

32 In Damascus the governor under Aretas the king kept the city of the Damascenes with a garrison, desirous to apprehend me:

33 And through a window in a basket was I let down by the wall, and escaped his hands.

GOD Has a Blessing. satan has a curse.

GOD Has a Blessing. satan has a curse.

GOD has blessings for us that are in accordance with HIS perfect will and HIS perfect plan for our lives. HE wants us to get to know HIM and HIS ways because they are perfect and just. HE will lift us up and never let us down. Yet, satan is always plotting our downfall. He wants to use our failure as leverage defend his own sin and try destroy all the good that GOD has made. GOD said that which HE made is good. satan does all that he can to try to ruin our lives to deceive us into not seeing GOD’s TRUTH, leaning unto our own understanding rather than trusting GOD, turning on GOD, turning on one another, and trusting the world system that satan himself designed. satan wants to curse you and wants you to curse yourself and others. Don’t let him get away with that. Don’t let satan quickly steal your opportunity to learn of GOD and to have a real relationship with THE TRUE AND LIVING GOD. Don’t let satan quickly steal your life, and your salvation. Turn to Jesus, trust in HIM, wait on HIM no matter how long it takes, Jesus is always on time.

GOD Has a Blessing. satan has a curse.

Narcisstic Abuse, Recovery and R. Kelly with Dr. Dave Orrison

Source: Bride Ministries International

I watched Bride Ministries discussion on Narcissism. Dan Duval and Dr. David Orrison discussed the Narcissism, the attributes of a narcissist, and the spiritual impact of narcissism on the lives of the narcissist and those that they hurt. Narcissism is a destructive force that causes trauma in the lives of those impacted by it and the self-destruction of the narcissist. Often, it breeds narcissism and other narcissists. I would even go so far as to say that the enablers of the narcissist are narcissistic submissives. I say this because they want to be associated with the greatness of the narcissist and benefit from that persons narcissism. They want the crumbs of all that is seemingly good that the narcissism brings. Indeed, some of them seem want to share the perceived spotlight of the narcissist by their association with them.

Dr. Orrison pointed out that narcissists don’t recognize the personhood of others. Recognizing the personhood others to be more than just supporting actors and props in a play about them, to them, diminishes their own value by giving individual unique importance and significance to others. I’m glad that Duval and Orrison had this discussion because as I listened to Dan Duval and David Orrison, GOD brought it to my attention that expecting and showing Respect of Persons, in a biblical sense, is a form of narcissism. I had written an article in which I discussed the biblical, Respect of Persons is utter disrespect last year. In the article, I described Respect of Persons and those who use it to manipulate others as well as get their way at nearly all costs.

Roots of Narcissism: Pride and Hurt
Pride and Hurt can manifest in many forms. Narcissism is a form in which those feelings of pride and hurt can manifest. According to Orrison, the self-image of that person becomes an idol to be perfected and protected or is already viewed as perfect. The narcissist wants to elevate and protect that image of themselves, even if its at the expense of others, he went on further to say. Personally, I have also observed that there may be a dissociation with reality occuring that allows them not to see the realities of life and the impact of their actions on it and others, though this not to absolve them of any responsibility for their actions.

Dan Duval and David Orrison: A Discussion on Narcissism

Duval and Orrison discuss:
Situational Narcissism
Narcissism in the workplace
Narcissism in the family
Narcissism in the church

I began to think about the numerous times in which I have encountered narcissism. In each scenario, I have observed that it is highly destructive to the others, the environment in which the narcissist is impacting and the narcissist themselves.

Situational Narcissism
Situational Narcissist typically have to be the center of attention and control minor situations to their advantage. They try to share in the spotlight of other or shut it off completely.

Narcissism in the workplace
Narcissism in the workplace creates a toxic organizational culture that creates an imbalance of power, exceptionalism, unbalanced workload, interpersonal conflict, destruction of healthy structures that comprise framework of the organization, nepotism, cronyism, unethical practices in decision-making, unjust rewarding systems, etc. Companies have been destroyed from within because of their toxic organizational culture. Toxic organizational has caused low employee morale that results in a plethora or problems such physical and mental health problems, the destruction of employee loyalty to the organization, low and poor productivity, cohesiveness that creates an environment for teamwork.

Narcissism in the family
Narcissism in the family can make a family a unit of enemies. Family members are supportive of one another. In a family where narcissism exists, healthy support of one another is replaced with competition, covetousness, envy, greedy, and self-entitlement. Substance is replaced with pomp and superficiality. When parents are narcissist, they have a tendency to raise narcissists or damage those who either won’t let themselves be shaped into a narcissist or who has been rejected by the narcissistic parent. Families affected by narcissism fight one another gladiator style for ultimate supremacy, hurting one another in immeasurable ways until they fall apart. Fortunately, members of the family who reject the influence of narcissism, can hold and rebuild their relationships.

Narcissism in the church
Narcissism in the church can be most damaging to those who need to be there most. Narcissism is truly the antithesis of GOD’s love. GOD is selfless. HE loves us so much that HE gives us free will. A narcissist is selfish and tries to control everyone else. In my opinion, when narcissism enters the church, the self-idolatry of narcissists makes themselves the first priority of the church and a mediator between its members and GOD’s word. This is the attitude that the scribes, pharisees, and sadducees. When Jesus came profess his rightful position of authority over them and held them accountable for their, even pointing out their hypocrisy by telling how they are like whited sepulchres with all filth and decay on the inside, they couldn’t handle it. Jesus stated in Matthew 23:1-36:

Matthew 23:1-36
1 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,

2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat:

3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.

4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,

6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,

7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.

8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.

9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.

11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.

12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

16 Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!

17 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?

18 And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty.

19 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?

20 Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.

21 And whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.

22 And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.

23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

24 Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.

25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.

26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.

27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.

28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

29 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,

30 And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.

31 Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.

32 Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.

33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:

35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.

36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.

They had elevated themselves and wanted no one to see their imperfection nor threaten their authority which they had imposed upon the people by way of tradition. These were traditions that they didn’t follow yet held others accountable because they were trying to control them rather point them to GOD’s righteous way. They wanted the worship for themselves, much like many entertainers in Hollywood today. When Jesus pointed people to GOD THE FATHER, Himself, and God The Holy Ghost; the scribes, pharisees, and sadducees wanted to silence Him.

The Ultimate Consequence of Narcissism
Narcissism is a poison that makes having a genuine relationship with GOD extremely difficult. It will always cause us to not walk with GOD. Most of all, It causes a person to forfeit their trust in GOD and appreciation of GOD. There is no one who can be trusted more than GOD no matter what situation we are in – good or bad. GOD is the GOD of all gods and there is none like unto HIM. The CREATOR of the universe. He knew us before he formed us in the womb and he knows what is best for us.
